The University for Development Studies (UDS) has announced the appointment of Prof. Mohammed Muniru Iddrisu, a Professor of Mathematics, as its new Vice-Chancellor, VC, effective 27th June 2026.

Prof. Iddrisu, who until his appointment served as Principal of the Nyankpala Campus, takes over the helm of Ghana’s premier development-focused university for a four-year term ending 31st August 2030.

In a congratulatory message signed by the university community, the institution described the appointment as well-deserved, citing Prof. Iddrisu’s distinguished administrative service, scholarly excellence, and strategic leadership.

“Your distinguished service as Principal of Nyankpala Campus, coupled with your scholarly excellence and strategic leadership, has rightly earned you this honour,” the statement read. “The entire university community celebrates you on your well-deserved appointment.”
