The University of Mines and Technology (UMaT) at Tarkwa, emerged winners of the Zone Two Inter-University Gas Challenge, which took place in Tarkwa.

The competition, an initiative of the Ghana National Gas Company, seeks to create awareness and understanding of the country’s nascent gas industry.

It is also aimed at whipping up interest in gas as a course among students, thus, developing the next generation of Ghanaian gas economists and engineers, to take up critical roles in the industry.

UMaT was followed by the Takoradi Technical University (TTU) and the University of Cape Coast (UCC) placed third. UMaT will therefore represent the zone in the grand finale.
