Ghana Optometric Association demands legislative action against quacks

The Ghana Optometric Association is calling for the enactment of a legislation and the enforcement of existing regulations to rid the profession of quacks.

The Association is worried, that the infiltration of quacks in optometric practice in the country, poses a serious threat for eye health.

This was contained in a communique issued at the end of its 11th Annual General Meeting, AGM. It was jointly held with the African Council of Optometry at Ho in the Volta Region.

The AGM brought together Optometrists from Nigeria, Togo, Cote D’Ivoire, Botswana, Djibouti, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Zimbabwe, South Africa and Ghana. We bring you a news desk report.
