The Ghana National Supporters Union (GHANSU) has fired up nationwide excitement for the Black Stars by unveiling the #GhanaIsInTheHouse campaign at a vibrant launch in Accra, rallying fans at home and abroad ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
With the tournament in the United States, Canada, and Mexico less than 90 days away, GHANSU aims to mobilize unwavering support to propel Ghana’s senior national team to glory on the global stage.
In a bold move, the union pledged to dispatch over 400 dedicated supporters to the host nations, ensuring thunderous vocal and visual backing for every Black Stars match.
GHANSU President Mr. Abraham Boakye declared their unshakeable commitment: “GHANSU is going to the World Cup, whether rain or shine… We are here today, and GHANSU is ready for the World Cup.” Sponsors and international partners will be announced on March 17, ramping up preparations.
Ambassador Dr. Erieka Bennett, Convening Founder of the African Union African Diaspora Forum, officially launched the campaign, hailing fans as the team’s vital second line. “The Black Stars are number one, but you are number two, and they need you,” she urged, positioning supporters as key motivators in major tournaments.
Dr. Bennett challenged GHANSU members to embody Ghana’s spirit abroad: “You are very important to this country, and you’re going to be ambassadors for Ghana. You will show the Ghana spirit, the Ghana professionalism, and the Ghana passion.” Her words ignited cheers, underscoring fans’ role in showcasing national pride.
