The Eastern Regional Branch of the Ghana Journalists Association, GJA, has paid a courtesy call on the management of Bright Senior High School at Kukurantumi in the Abuakwa North District of the Eastern Region.
The visit is for the leadership of the GJA to introduce the new executive to the management of the school and also to foster unity and effective collaboration between the two entities. The GJA took the opportunity to commend the school for its academic excellence and for being one of the best, stellar-performing Private Senior High Schools and for being consistent with their performance for the past years in the West African Senior School Certificate Examination, WASSCE in the country.

The Proprietor of Bright Senior High School, Bright Amponsah, lauded the leadership of the GJA in the region for their plan of tightening their relationship with his outfit. He reiterated that the media play a pivotal role in promoting every institution in the country.
Mr. Amponsah noted that the media is a powerful tool to promote excellence and development, however, he urged the media not to use their tool to destroy personalities and institutions but rather encourage and motivate people while holding them accountable and constructive criticism.

The Headmaster of the School, Dominic Acquah hinted that their secret for their academic excellence include seriousness, discipline and hard work from management, teachers as well as students. He also mentioned strong supervision and teachers’ motivation as some factors. Mr. Acquah encouraged parents to bring their wards to the school, as they are ready to refine every student to become an outstanding student.
The Eastern Regional Chairman of the Ghana Journalists Association, Stephen Ampem Darko Koranteng pledged the Association’s commitment to work together with the school. He commended the management of the school for their warm welcome of the GJA executive and reemphasized that the visit will reignite the relationship between the Association and the school

Bright Senior High School is a well-disciplined private institution with best performance that receives students from the government placement list of students who pass the Basic Education Certificate Examination BECE and need further education. The school excelled in the 2025 WASSCE with over 20 students scoring eight ‘A’s though the nationwide performance was abysmal.
