The Ghana Olympians Association (GOA), in collaboration with the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) and the GOC Athletes Commission (GOC-AC), is rolling out a vital career transition workshop for Ghanaian athletes in Accra.

Titled “The End is the Beginning,” the event aims to equip sportsmen and sportswomen with essential skills for life after competitive sports.

This initiative transforms the often challenging post-athletic phase into a launchpad for professional success.

By focusing on career planning, skill development, and networking, organizers seek to ensure athletes thrive beyond the field, track, or ring.

Scheduled for Monday, January 5, 2025, at the Media Centre of the Accra Sports Stadium, the workshop promises interactive sessions led by experts in career coaching and sports management.

Participants will gain practical tools to navigate job markets, entrepreneurship, and personal branding.

The diverse group includes members from the GOA, GOC-AC, and athletes selected from key Sports Federations such as athletics, boxing, and football.

This broad representation underscores the commitment to supporting Ghana’s Olympic hopefuls and veterans.

As Ghana eyes stronger performances in future international competitions, events like this highlight a holistic approach to athlete welfare.

Stakeholders anticipate the workshop will inspire a new generation of post-sport leaders contributing to the nation’s sports ecosystem.
