GoldBod donates GHS 86,454 to support 10-year-old brain tumour patient

The Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) has  donated GHS 86,454 to support the treatment of 10-year-old Regina Agyeiwaa, who is battling a brain tumour at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital on April 14, 2026.

The amount was presented by Mrs. Gloria Precious Ankomah, Head of the Special Intervention Programme, to fund two life-saving surgeries needed for the child.

The intervention comes as part of efforts by GoldBod to provide urgent medical support to vulnerable individuals, particularly children facing critical health conditions.

“The Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) has provided critical support to 10-year-old Regina Agyeiwaa, who is undergoing treatment for a brain tumour at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital,” the statement said.

“A donation of GHS 86,454.00 was presented to fund two life-saving surgeries,” it added.

The family of the patient expressed gratitude for the timely assistance, noting that the support would go a long way in ensuring she receives the required treatment without delay.

Medical staff at the facility also confirmed that the donation would facilitate immediate care and improve the chances of a successful outcome.

“The initiative forms part of GoldBod’s ongoing commitment to supporting vulnerable Ghanaians through healthcare and social impact programmes,” the statement said.
