The Ghana Health Service (GHS) says it is working on new strategies to deal with vaccine hesitancy. Large quantities of Covid-19 vaccines in the Volta Region have expired amid vaccine hesitancy in the region.

According to the Ghana Health Service in the region, close to 10% of vaccines have gone to waste there.

Director-General of the Ghana Health Service, (GHS) Dr. Patrick Kuma-Aboagye at the sidelines of a programme in Accra, said the Ghana Health Service will ensure that these setbacks and vaccine expiration do not happen going forward.

To this end, it will intensify education and awareness to get a greater number of Ghanaians vaccinated.
