Government lacks credible plans for healthcare – NDC

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has criticized government for lacking credible plans for healthcare delivery.

Former Minister of Communications, Dr Edward Omane Boamah dismissed the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) campaign promise of using the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) to achieve Sustainable Development Goal Three – .

He said the Scheme does not respond to the exigencies of the time as it covers below forty percent of the population.

To this end, Dr Omane Boamah said the Free Primary Healthcare proposal by the NDC has been thought through and crafted to enhance universal coverage of health.

Dr Omane Boamah was addressing the media in Accra as part of the party’s weekly News Briefing.
