The National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) has announced that some electronic hospital management systems across the country are facing temporary disruptions. The issue, according to the Authority, has affected the processing of claims and verification services in a few healthcare facilities nationwide.
In a public notice released on October 6, 2025, the NHIA urged all healthcare providers to continue offering uninterrupted services to National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) members despite the technical challenge. The Authority advised hospitals to make use of the alternative mobile phone–based platform to generate Claims Check Codes (CCC) for smooth service delivery.
The NHIA emphasized that no NHIS member should be made to pay out of pocket due to the disruption. “Members should not bear any financial burden because of this temporary system issue,” the statement read. This move aims to ensure that access to healthcare remains uninterrupted while the problem is being fixed.
The Authority further appealed to both healthcare providers and NHIS members to exercise patience and understanding as technical teams from the Ministry of Health and other partners work to restore full system functionality.
The NHIA expressed appreciation for the public’s cooperation and reassured Ghanaians that efforts are underway to resolve the issue swiftly. Members experiencing challenges are encouraged to contact the NHIA Call Centre at 054-444-6447 for assistance.
