The Ghana Health Service (GHS) will start polio vaccination for children under five years tomorrow (September 11) in all 29 districts of Accra.

This comes after the Environmental Surveillance Unit of the Service detected the Polio virus around Agbobloshie.

Speaking to GBC’s Radio Ghana, Senior Public Health Specialist, GHS, Dr. Kwame Amponsah Achiano said it is an additional Polio vaccine for all children below five years in two folds, with the second scheduled for October this year.

Dr Achiano also indicated that the Polio vaccination in the Northern part of the country has been successfully completed.
