FIFA President Gianni Infantino has marked 10 years in office by writing to all 211 Member Associations, thanking them for their support since his election on February 26, 2016.

In his message, Infantino said FIFA has undergone significant change over the past decade, and that the organisation has reconnected with the core of the game. He noted that when he first took office, FIFA was facing serious governance challenges, and Member Associations chose a new direction focused on reform, transparency and development.

He credited unity among Member Associations as a key factor in FIFA’s transformation, describing the organisation as central to holding the global football structure together from grassroots to elite competition.

Infantino concluded by thanking football leaders worldwide for prioritising the interests of the game, adding that football remains a unifying force despite divisions across the world.

Gianni Infantino was elected in 2016 following a corruption crisis that led to the departures of several top FIFA officials. He succeeded Sepp Blatter.
