Inflation rate drops from 38.1% to 35.2% in October

Inflation rate for October 2023 has declined significantly from 38.1 percent to 35.2 percent. This indicates that year-on-year, the average prices of goods and services between October 2022 and 2023 went up by 35.2 percent.

The rate represents a 2.9 percentage points decrease from the September rate of 38.1 percent.

Speaking at a media briefing in Accra, Government Statistician, Prof. Samuel Kobina Annim attributed the decline to food inflation which recorded 44.8 percent.

At the regional level, North East, recorded inflationary rates higher than the national level of 35.2 percent and Greater Accra Region recorded the lowest.
