The last batch of about four hundred Ghanaian Muslim Pilgrims attending this year’s Hajj have arrived in Medina, city of Hejazi in Saudi Arabia.
This brings the number of Ghanaians attending the annual ritual to six thousand.
Most pilgrims were full of praise for the Hajj Board for the successful organisation of the trip.
From Medina, the pilgrims will from today, Monday, move to Makkah to begin the annual rites of Hajj.
Hajj, the fifth pillar of Islam is held in high esteem by Muslims around the world.
Though not obligatory on those who do not have the means, the purity and emotion associated with the event continue to push the have-nots to strive to make it to the ritual.
It is an event that brings the rich and the poor from all over the world to witness the history surrounding the birth and victory of Islam.
The Kaaba, the first house of worship of Islam, the house and mosque of prophet Mohammed on whom be peace, and Mina, the place prophet Abraham agreed to sacrifice his only son are among the many other historical sites Muslims visit with enthusiasm and emotion.
It was all joy as the last batch of Muslims on the Boeing 747-400 extolled the virtues of Allah as the huge plane touched down in Medina.
