Three residents in the Ashanti region are reported to have died from Meningitis.

The Deputy Ashanti Regional Director of Health in charge of Public Health, Dr.Ofori Yeboah who confirmed this to Radio Ghana in Kumasi, said two of the deceased were males and one woman.

They were all from the Sekyere Central district of the region. Dr.Ofori Yeboah, however, gave the assurance that the infection rate of the disease is now under control with no known patient either at home or on hospital admission.

Dr.Ofori Yeboah attributed the outbreak of Meningitis in Ashanti to the extreme hot weather which usually leads to such health conditions.
