The National Service Personnel Association, (NASPA), has initiated an animal husbandry support scheme for its members who are willing to engage in such ventures.

The initiative forms part of the Association’s drive to encourage the youth to establish their own businesses rather than seeking for non existing jobs.

It is also in line with the government’s flagship “Rearing for Food and Jobs” program.

Addressing members at the National launch of the 10th annual NASPA Week Celebrations in Ho, President of the Association, Stephen Twumasi noted that his outfit is committed to ensuring a better welfare system for its members and to assist them to execute their role in nation building.

He stated that graduate unemployment has been a bane on  the country’s economic growth hence  the resolve by the Association to pave way for members to set up their own ventures.

Mr. Twumasi disclosed that his outfit has created an online portal to receive business proposals with regards to animal husbandry for assistance.

He was hopeful that the initiative will compliment government’s efforts at reducing unemployment in the country.

The Volta Regional Director of Education, Enyonam Amafugah and the Ho Municipal Chief Executive, Nelson Akorli advised members of the Association to eschew acts of corruption as they enter the job market and explore opportunities available to create wealth for themselves and their families.

The Volta Regional Director of the National Service Scheme, Ambrose Entsiwah Jr encouraged service personnel in the Volta and Oti Regions to take advantage of the animal husbandry support scheme as well as to participate fully in the NASPA week celebration.

The 10th National Service Personnel Association (NASPA) Week Celebration is themed, “Rearing for Food and Jobs: The Role of Service Personnel”.
