The Medical and Dental Council is to introduce new stamps for all medical practitioners.

The stamp will be a compulsory requirement for practice in the country.

Registrar at the Medical and Dental Council, Dr. Eli Kwesi Atikpui, said the move is to help enforce professional standards, link a practitioner to every medical record or report generated in the course of their practice, facilitate clinical audit, and weed out unregistered and unqualified practitioners.

Addressing stakeholders in the health sector in Accra, Dr. Atikpui said the self-inking stamp will cover all practitioners registered and licensed by the Medical and Dental Council.
