The National Paralympic Committee of Ghana (NPC Ghana) has issued a strong clarification following recent disclaims from the Ghana Adaptive Boxing Federation (GHABF), reaffirming the reassignment of Mr. Isaac Tetteh as a Media Officer and Administrator under the national para-sports body. The statement aims to clear any confusion and reinforce the authority of NPC Ghana over such appointments across all para-sports disciplines.
According to NPC Ghana, Mr. Tetteh’s new role as the Media Officer and Administrator under the national para-sports body is a vital part of the Committee’s strategic plan to promote advocacy, development and visibility of para-sports throughout Ghana. His reassignment is aligned with the broader national initiative outlined in the NPC 2020–2027 Strategic Plan, which serves as the guiding document for the growth of para-sports in the country.
The Committee emphasized that all media and administrative officers appointed to federations operate strictly within the framework and authority of NPC Ghana. In their official release, they stated that these officers are essential in achieving a shared vision of building a unified, inclusive, and competitive para-sport ecosystem at the national and international levels.
“All appointed media and administrative officers assigned to federations operate under the authority and framework of NPC Ghana,” the Committee emphasized in the official release. “These officers contribute to a shared national vision of building a unified, inclusive, and globally competitive para-sport ecosystem.”
NPC Ghana further explained that Mr. Tetteh’s responsibilities extend beyond a single federation. His work focuses on project coordination, stakeholder engagement and media management, especially in support of key upcoming initiatives like the 1st Open Para-Sport and Classification Festival scheduled for later this year. The festival aims to elevate Ghana’s standing as a hub for para-sports and talent discovery on the continent.
The Committee congratulated all federations and the Technical Committee members involved in organizing the festival, reaffirming their commitment to unity and professionalism. While respecting federation autonomy, NPC Ghana called for collaborative efforts among all stakeholders to empower persons with disabilities through sport, ending with a rallying message: “We are one movement, one vision and together, we rise.”
