NPP Vetting Committee clears all 10 flagbearer aspirants

All 10 flagbearer hopefuls of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) have been cleared to contest in the upcoming elections.

The Vetting Committee of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has cleared all ten Flagbearer Aspirants for its Special Electoral College Election scheduled for August 26, 2023.

A statement signed by the General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, said that pursuant to Article 10 (3) of the Party’s Constitution, the Vetting Committee for the Party’s Presidential Primary Election submitted its report to the National Council on July 10, 2023.

In the report, the Committee recommended the following as eligible to participate in the upcoming Presidential primaries, subject to the approval of the National Council:

Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, Kwadwo Poku, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Boakye Kyerematen Agyarko, and Kwabena Agyei Agyapong. The rest are Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, Dr. Kofi Konadu Apraku, Dr. Owusu Akoto Afriyie, Joe Ghartey, and Francis Addai-Nimoh.

The statement added that the National Council of the Party is scheduled to deliberate on the Vetting Committee’s recommendations on Thursday July 20, 2023.
