NPP Establishes Committee to Review CRC’s Final Report

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has formed a joint committee to examine the Constitution Review Committee (CRC)’s final recommendations, submitted to President John Dramani Mahama. The committee is to guide the party’s National Council on its stance.

NPP National Organiser Henry Nana Boakye announced the development in a Facebook statement on Tuesday, December 23, a day after the CRC delivered its report to the President.

Nana Boakye noted that the committee was originally set up during the NPP’s involvement in the review process to craft and submit the party’s input to the CRC.

Co-chaired by Kwame Anyimadu-Antwi, the Ranking Member on Parliament’s Constitutional and Legal Affairs Committee, and Frank Davies Esq., Chairman of the NPP’s Constitutional and Legal Committee, the committee  is to scrutinise and delibrate on the recommended changes contained in the CRC report.

According to Nana Boakye, the step being taken underscores the NPP’s commitment to a methodical, inclusive strategy for constitutional changes, rooted in detailed review and broad input.

Key members include MPs and senior figures such as Hassan Tampuli, O.B. Amoah, Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, Gary Nimako Esq., Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah, Dr. Mahama Tiah Abdul-Kabiru, Fati Abubakar, and Hanifa Adjoa Yahaya.

Nana Boakye called on NPP members and supporters to avoid public comments on the proposals during the review, promising that, the party’s official response would be shared soon. He emphasized unity in its final position.
