People from different backgrounds; Palestinians, Ghanaians and members of the Muslim community were on some streets of Accra to raise their collective voice against the conflict between Israel and HAMAS. They called for justice and immediate cessation of the war.
It has been years of struggling between Arabs and Jews over ownership of the Holy Land; and this has resulted in seven major wars.
The latest conflict broke out on October 7, in which 1,300 people were killed in towns, army bases and a music festival in the desert.
Following the devastating conflict that has gripped the world’s attention, the streets of Accra echoed with voices of solidarity and compassion by some Palestinians residing in the country, citizens and members of the Muslim community. As they marched through the streets, chanting slogans, they sought to remind the world that the pain and suffering of the Palestinian people should not be overlooked.
The General Secretary of the Socialist Movement in Ghana, Mr Kwesi Pratt jnr, called on all to vote for leaders who stand in unity with all in the quest of justice.
A former member of Parliament for the Jomoro Constituency, Samia Nkrumah, also called for an end to the war in Palestine
Their message was; the pursuit of peace knows no boundaries and their voices echoed the call for an end to the war in Palestine.
