The Tema Regional Police Command is investigating a case involving the alleged accidental shooting of the right lower thigh of a security personnel by colleague personnel on Thursday, April 9, 2020.
Both personnel were performing operation COVID-19 safety duties at Tema Newtown in the press statement signed by the Acting PRO of the Tema Region Command Chief Inspector Stella Dede Dzakpasu.
It said the personnel who got injured was quickly rushed to the Tema General Hospital, were she was treated and discharged.
The personnel who allegedly fired the shot has been cautioned and released to his unit commander, pending further investigation.
The statement urged the public to remain calm, as investigation into the matter is ongoing.
