Two hundred and seventy out of the Five hundred and seventy dams to be constructed in the three regions of the North will be ready for use early next year.
The dams are 80-85 percent complete.
The dam will aid the agricultural sector since they will provide an all year round water for small holder farmers and livestock farmers in these regions.
The One Village One Dam Policy is one of government’s flagship project and a campaign promise of President Akuffo Addo during the 2016 elections.
Speaking at the Meet the Press Series in Accra, the Minister of Special Development Initiatives, Mavis Hawa Koomson said the construction of these dams are not photo-shopped but are live projects.
She stated that the ministry will next week provide the location of all these projects on its website for accountability sake.
