A planned media engagement by NPP presidential aspirant Alan Kyerematen has been postponed due to what his campaign team describes as unforeseen circumstances.

Mr. Kyerematen had planned to speak to the media today in what many believe could determine the next phase of his political career and whether or not he will still contest the party’s presidential primaries.

Alan Kyerematen, who has been a serial contender to be the NPP’s flagbearer since 2008, performed poorly in the party’s special electoral college to trim the number of aspirants to five.

Mr. Kyerematen was hoping to at least make the top two, but MP for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, beat him to it with 132 votes, coming in third place with a total of 95 votes.

He is said to be unhappy with the way national executives handled the internal polls, which his camp believes is favouring a particular Candidate against the others.

A statement issued by Alan Kyerematen’s campaign team this morning said the event has been postponed, adding that a new date will be communicated soon.
