The Member of Parliament (MP) for Ningo-Prampram Constituency, Sam Dzata George, says vigilante groups owe allegiance to individuals with political agenda and not to the National Democratic Congress, (NDC).

The MP was on Monday, February 25, 2019, testifying before the Emile Short Commission of Inquiry probing the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency by-election shooting incident which occurred on January 31, 2019 at La Bawaleshie a surburb of Accra.

Sam George alleged that some individuals in the NDC were those setting up groups for political purposes of power.

According to the MP, his political party is only being used as a vehicle and that the party benefits from their actions.

Meanwhile, MP for Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency, Lydia Seyram Alhassan, could not appear before the commission on Monday, February 25 as scheduled.

She was due to appear before the commission after Sam George, but the commission announced later that it was adjourning proceedings to Tuesday, February 26.
