An aspiring National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Boakye Kyeremateng Agyarko has outlined his four strategic pillars for his tenure when elected as National Chairman for the Party.
According Boakye Agyarko, the strategy includes unifying the party. A unified party, for him, involves leading reconciliation of the party by serving as the bridge that brings all factions together towards rebuilding a formidable party for victory in 2028.
Secondly, the agenda is for members’ welfare to be assured. That, he says, involves establishing a welfare scheme to improve the wellbeing of party executives and members at all levels. The third is resourcing the party. That is, ensuring effective mobilization, equitable and timely distribution of campaign resources for effective operations, pledging to provide coordination support for Dr. Bawumia to execute his novel initiative of constituency-based government appointments.
The fourth is to improve the party infrastructure by establishing a world-class national headquarters and permanent, party-owned offices for all regions and constituencies. This, he believes, will strengthen the NPP as an effective and efficient election machine for Dr. Bawumia’s victory in 2028.
In a press release signed by the Spokesperson for the Boakye Agyarko Campaign Team, Lawyer Vincent Frimpong Manu, disclosed the strategy of the campaign team, after Mr. Agyarko’s successful completion of Phase One of his campaign tour for National Chairman of the NPP in the Ahafo, Ashanti, Bono, and Western North Regions.
During the tour, Mr. Agyarko addressed zonal meetings of constituency executives and declared his vision for the party, which is to transform the NPP into a formidable, disciplined political machine capable of securing a decisive victory for the Presidential Candidate of the Party, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the 2028 general elections.
Reflecting on the party’s current trajectory, Mr. Agyarko offered a candid assessment of the party in the 2024 general elections, explaining that, the party had a solid candidate but a weak party structure, which resulted in the defeat. He noted that, when given the nod as National Chairman, he will return the NPP to its foundational Danquah-Dombo-Busia traditions, rebuilding the party’s structures so that Dr. Bawumia leads a party that is well-organized, energized, and ready to win.
He pledged his commitment to reconciling all rank and file of the NPP and providing the solid organizational backbone required for the presidency
Bernard Antwi Boasiako famously known as Chairman Wontumi, the party’s most recent Asante Regional Chairman and John Boadu a former General Secretary of the party, as well as Paul Afoko a former National Chairman of the party, known to be vying for the National Chairman position with Boakye Agyarko.
