The Member of Parliament (MP) for Chiana-Paga, Nkyema Billa Alamzy, has been summoned for questioning the rationale behind the National Democratic Congress (NDC) National Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketia’s ‘thank you’ tour.
Mr Alamzy’s comments about the party chairman’s nationwide tour did not sit well with the Functional Executive Committee (FEC) of the party, which has since summoned him to appear before them.
In a statement issued by the party on September 29, 2025, the Chiana-Paga lawmaker is expected to appear before the committee on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at 2:00 pm at the party’s headquarters.
In a widely circulated video on social media, the MP was heard questioning the motive behind the ‘thank you’ tour being organised by Mr Asiedu Nketia in his constituency.
He also lamented the lack of jobs for his constituents and other pressing needs, which he believes require more urgent attention than the tour the party leadership is embarking on.
The statement, signed by the party’s Director of Administration, Emmanuel Zumakpeh, noted that the legislator was needed by party executives to answer questions and provide further clarification on his remarks.
“The attention of the Functional Executive Committee (FEC) has been drawn to a widely circulated video recording from the studios of GHOne TV, in which you were heard questioning the rationale for any ‘thank you tour’ by the leadership of the party in your constituency, as well as making other remarks which did not sit well with the leadership of the party.
“In view of the concerns raised by your comments in the said video, you are hereby invited to appear before the committee to provide clarification and further explanation,” portions of the statement read.
