CPP to hold congress August 22

The Convention People’s Party (CPP) will on Saturday, August 22, hold its congress to elect national officers.

Acting National Chairperson, Hamdatu Ibrahim Haruna, said due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Congress will be held simultaneously in all the 16 regions.

“Each region will hold their congress in the areas/towns that we have chosen. In Bolga, we’ll do it in Bolga; in Upper West, we will do it in Wa; in Northern region, Tamale; Savannah, in Damongo; North East, in Nalerigu; and in the Western region, Takoradi.”

“We are electing our National Chairman, three Vice-Chairmen, General-Secretary, Treasurer, Women’s Organiser, Youth Organiser, the Organiser and the Flagbearer.”

She told Radio Ghana that the party will soon after the congress come out with its manifesto for the 2020 general election.
