The Electoral Commission (EC) has set Tuesday, December 30, 2025, for a rerun of the parliamentary election in the Kpandai Constituency.
The announcement comes after a directive from the Tamale High Court on Monday, November 24, 2025, ordering that a fresh poll be held within 30 days.
The process was initiated after the Commission received an official notice from the Clerk to Parliament on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, indicating that the Kpandai seat had been declared vacant.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the EC indicated that only the three candidates who contested the 2024 parliamentary election in the constituency will be eligible to take part in the rerun.
The Commission noted that limiting the poll to the original contenders maintains continuity in addressing the disputed results.
Signed by Fred Tetteh, Deputy Director of the EC’s Research, Monitoring and Evaluation Department, the release encouraged the public to take note of the new date, adding that the EC remains committed to transparency, fairness and integrity in the electoral process.
