Former President John Mahama, has raised issues with President Akufo-Addo for not fully accepting recommendations of the Emile Short Commission of Inquiry on the Ayawaso West Wuogon by By-election violence.
The former President speaking at a durbar to commemorate one year since the by-election violence said the inaction of the government has compromised the peace and security of the nation.
The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, accused government of abandoning victims of the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election violence.
The Member Parliament (MP) for Ningo-Prampram, Sam George, who was allegedly assaulted during the by-election, says he will initiate legal action next week, to challenge the contents of the government’s White Paper on the Emile Short Commission of Inquiry report.
Meanwhile, Managing Editor of the Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt, wants the Police Service to explain to Ghanaians why security was not provided for the durbar to commemorate one year since the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election violence.
