Ghana has moved from the Tier 2 Watch List of the Human Trafficking Index to Tier 2, on the 2018 Trafficking Persons Report.

This is due to the country’s improved effort at controlling human trafficking.

From January to September 2018, 336 persons have been rescued, with 18 convictions. Fifty-nine children have so far been reunited with their families and some cases are being investigated, with others going through court hearings.

These were some evidence of progress Ghana presented at the High level consultation on the US-Ghana Children Protection Compact (CPC) Partnership Implementation held in Accra.
