A group calling itself ‘Concerned New Patriotic Party Grassroots’ in the Volta Region has commended President Akufo-Addo for re-nominating Dr. Archibald Letsa as the Regional Minister for his second term.

The group says Dr. Letsa as Regional Minister for the past four years has exhibited prudent administrative skills and excellent human relations.

The announcement of Dr. Archibald Letsa as the Volta Regional Minister nominee, has received mixed reactions in the region from New Patriotic Party (NPP) members with some happy about the nomination while others oppose it.

There are reports of an intended demonstration in the regional capital, Ho against his appointment.

But the Concern NPP Grassroots in the Volta Region has condemned the move, saying it is being orchestrated by few individuals in the party for their parochial interest.

At a News conference in Ho, Convener of the group, Foster Hans Badzana, said after thelast year’s elections, what the party needs is unity and not divisive tendencies.

He said any form of challenge against nomination of Dr. Letsa’s as the Volta Regional Minister, is disrespect to President Akufo-Addo and the NPP.

Mr. Hans Badzana said Dr. Lesta has proven to be a good leader within the last four years as the regional minister and therefore deserves the appointment.

A member of the Group, Nelson Kuma Oye urged Party members to channel their grievances to the regional or national leadership for redress adding that the Party’s interest supersedes selfish interest.
