Independent Presidential candidate Jacob Osei Yeboah popularly known as JOY, has declared his intention to contest the December elections.

According to him, the decision to contest is based on the fact that all governments under the fourth republic have abused the rule of law, a situation he says must be corrected.

He said life in Ghana can now be best described as ‘ survival of the fittest’.

Mr. Jacob Osei Yeboah, disclosed this at a durbar of chiefs and people of Sabin Akrofrom in the Atwima Kwawoma district of Ashanti to mark Awukudae.

Awukudae Festival, meaning”Wednesday ceremony”, is a traditional Ashanti festival on the Asante traditional calendar, celebrated on Wednesdays nine times in a year in 42-day intervals.

The celebration is significant because it showcases the Asante culture and tradition.

Hundreds of Ghanaians including chiefs, politicians, clergy, academicians, state institutions from various vicinities in the area converged on the forecourt of the Sabin Akrofrom to pay homage to the Chief, Nana Osei Kofi adorned in rich Kente cloth sat in state as traditional rulers, community leaders, chiefs, diplomats, notable personalities and recognized groups paid homage to him.

He advised politicians to be circumspect in their utterances since Ghana is the only country we have.

In his address, the Independent Presidential Candidate, Jacob Osei Yeboah said Ghana is under developed because of bad leadership since the inception of the fourth Republican. He, therefore, urged Ghanaians to do away with politics of NPP and NDC and see him as the alternative.

Highlights of the event were distribution of 200 pieces of cloth and over 350 chicken to the residents of Sabin Akrofrom by the Chief, Nana Osei Kofi.
