The petitioner in the 2020 election petition, John Mahama has asked the Supreme Court (SC) to permit him to add more justification to his case and for the court to reconsider the ruling that refused the interrogatories.

In an earlier statement of case filed for review of the court’s ruling on interrogatories, the petitioner argued out that, the interrogatories were relevant and would help expedite the case and avoid long cross examination as the case progresses.

However in the latest court documents filed by the petitioner, as part of the permission requested for the review application, he said he is bringing to the notice of the court that erred in its own precedence and as such must reconsider its decision.

The petitioner in his latest filings to the court isseeking permission for it to be incorporated in the old statement of case for review of the ruling on the interrogatories. He said the court has countless of examples where it exercised its discretional powers to allow interrogatories on a respondent and sees no reason why it will not allow him now.

The petitioner believes when he is granted leave to amend his statement of case to the review application, he will prove through his lawyers the fundamental errors the supreme Court caused in its ruling on the interrogatories. The court will consider all the applications brought by the petitioner

before it sits on the substantive matter that is the petition itself today. Among the application brought to the court is application for Review and application for stay of proceedings.
