NPP completes balloting for January 2026 Presidential primaries

The Presidential Elections Committee of the New patriotic, party, NPP, and the Electoral Commission, EC, have successfully conducted balloting for the Party’s Presidential Candidates ahead of the January 31, 2026 Presidential primaries.

A statement by the Secretary to the Presidential Elections Committee, William Yamoah, said the exercise held at the Party Headquarters today saw former Assin Central MP, Kennedy Agyapong, as number one on the ballot with former Minister of Food and Agriculture, Dr. Bryan Acheampong, picking the second slot.

Former Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia took the third position on the ballot while former Minister of Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum picked the fourth position.

Former NPP General Secretary, Kwabena Agyei Agyepong is number 5 on the ballot paper.

The statement extended its appreciation to all Candidates, representatives and officials of the Electoral Commission for their cooperation. It added that the Presidential Elections Committee reaffirms its commitment to transparency, fairness and the highest democratic standards in the conduct of the Presidential primary.
