The National Democratic Congress (NDC) flag bearer John Mahama says President Akufo-Addo has lost the fight against corruption hence, the Party’s silence on the subject at its manifesto launch in Cape Coast.

In an interview, Mr. Mahama said the failure of the Akufo-Addo government to fight corruption has reduced the confidence Ghanaians have in Politicians.

Mr. Mahama added that he was not surprised the NPP was silent on corruption at yesterday’s event (August 22,2020).

He said the Party has actually lost the fight against corruption completely.

He was speaking in an interview as he wraps up his tour of the Volta and Oti Regions.

Mr. Mahama used the interview session to further explain his desire to legalize the Okada business.

According to him, the Okada business has become a source of employment for a large number of the youth.

Therefore, taking it away will affect the income of thousands of those who use it for commercial purposes.

Mr. Mahama said what is needed is to regulate the okada business and make it safer for users.

Meanwhile, former President Mahama says he is humbled so far by the reactions he is getting from his tour, especially in the Volta and Oti Regions.

He said people’s reactions means they are disappointed with the current system.
