President Akufo-Addo says government will put in place adequate measures to ensure peaceful election in December.

He said insults and thuggery have never been part of democracy and that, people should be given the free will to make their choices.

The President gave the assurance at a durbar of the chiefs of the people of Bamiankor in the Nzema East District as part of his five-day tour of the Western Region. It was to launch the Akango/Duale and Egila Gwira community mining programme.

President Akuffo-Addo said all such initiatives are geared towards creating job opportunities and building a robust local economy.

Touching on the request by the chiefs for a dormitory block for the Bamiankor e-block SHS, President Akufo-Addo said such concept of school blocks is now a thing of the past, saying properly planned organized school blocks with the requisite facilities will be constructed.

For his part, the Minister for Mines and Natural Resources, Kwaku Ansu Kyeremeh said, the Community Mining Programme is planned in a manner to ensure the sustainable mining of the country’s mineral resources by the locals.

The Omanhene of the Gwira traditional area, Awulae Angama Tu-Agyan commended government for the free SHS policy and appealed for action to be expelled on the poor nature of roads in the area.
