President Akufo-Addo pledges to tackle Chieftaincy problems in Ghana

President Akufo-Addo has pledged to use the successful and peaceful enskinment of a new Yaa Na for the Dagbon traditional area as stepping stone to tackle all Chieftaincy problems in every part of the country.

The Ministry of Chieftaincy Affairs, he said, is in the process of marking this a reality.

Speaking at the 62nd Independence celebrations in Tamale, President Akufo-Addo said Chieftaincy conflicts are a drain on the public purse and must be re-examined.

On security, President Akufo Addo reiterated the need for the Police Service to be revamped to meet best practices.

He said as government tries to meet their needs, police personnel must be professional and “police themselves” to perfection.
