Civil Society Organizations, CSOs have called on the security agencies to probe acts of violence during the general election.

They include Ghana Integrity Initiative, IMANI-Ghana, and the Media Foundation for West Africa.

A Statement by the CSOs suggested that disagreements with the outcome of the election results should be resolved through laid down procedures outlined by law.

They reminded the leaders of the two major political parties to respect and fulfill pledges they signed in the Presidential Election Peace Pact, which include not just a commitment to promoting peaceful elections but also a pledge to resort to judicial mechanisms to address election disputes and encourage political parties to tell their members to refrain from any violence, to stay calm, and to follow the laid down procedures provided to challenge election results.

The CSOs added that key stakeholders of the elections should convene a forum with the EC to brainstorm and find permanent solutions to the gaps and errors that have emerged during the elections and to update existing electoral laws, policies and procedures with agreed recommendations so as to avoid unnecessary agitations in the future.
