The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Tema East constituency, Titus Glover has debunked claims that he is behind the arrest of the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) parliamentary candidate, Isaac Ashai Odamtten.

The NDC’s parliamentary candidate was picked up by the police for failing to meet a bail condition he was given by an Accra court on counts of alleged embezzlement while he was Mayor of Tema.

Scores of supporters of NDC within the constituency on Monday night massed up at the Tema Community 11 police station to demand the release of Ashai Odamtten.

The incumbent MP, Titus Glover who is being accused as the brain behind the arrest has on several platforms alleged that the former Mayor and parliamentary candidate for Tema East, Ashai Odamtten signed a number of shady contracts during his tenure as mayor and called for his arrest.

But Mr. Glover in an interview on Eyewitness News Mr. Glover said: “I know nothing about his arrest.”

“He should speak the truth to the people in Tema East why he has been charged and stop lying through his teeth.”

When asked about his take on a candidate being arrested a few days to elections, the incumbent MP said “I don’t determine how State agencies should work. They know how they do their work. How do I come in here?”
