The coronation of the overload of Dagbon, Ya Naa Abubakari Mahama, will take place January 25 following the successful completion of the final funeral rites of late Yaa Naa Yakubu Andani.
Speaking on GBC’s ‘Behind the News’, Spokesperson for the Abudu gate, Alhaji Mugisu Sibari, noted that the enskinment of the new Ya Naa, is an indication that the two gates Abudus and Andanis are now one.
Alhaji Mugisu Sibari, was happy that the long battle which robbed them of development and peace has come to an end.
Bashiru Dubale Sadah who speaks for the Andani gate assured the President and the people that Friday’s coronation would be carried out in a peaceful manner because that is what the people yearn for.
Meanwhile, the coordinator of the West Africa Network for Peace Building, WANEP, Albert Yaleyan, says the onus lies on the people of Dagbon to prove themselves that they can be peaceful. He was hopeful of a peaceful event on Friday.
