New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer aspirant, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, has urged Ghanaian youth to take their survival seriously by eschewing overdependence on government.
“The youth is overdependent on government for their survival; they need to take charge of their lives,” he said.
Speaking at the National Emerging Leaders Economic Forum on Monday, September 22, 2025, Kennedy Agyapong emphasized the need for young people to be proactive and self-reliant, rather than depending on government for everything.
Addressing the theme for the forum, “Is there enough youth empowerment?”, Kennedy Agyapong raised concerns about the country’s economic challenges and the role of government in supporting citizens.
The former Assin Central MP also expressed his disappointment with the current state of politics in Ghana, stating that politics is no longer attractive and he wouldn’t advise his children to pursue a career in it.
“Politics is no longer attractive, and I would never advise any of my children to go into it,” he reiterated.
He further lamented that many politicians do not speak the truth, which has eroded public trust in them, making politics unattractive.
