Fifty Frontline Health workers at the Prampram Quarantine Centre have received training to support safe and dignified return of Ghanaians amidst COVID-19 by the International Organization for Migration, IOM of the United Nations.
The training is to equip frontline workers to better observe the safety protocols while managing Ghanaian returnees and other migration issues.
Responding to the increasing number of evacuations, the IOM with funding from the European Union also presented six thousand four hundred and 40 nose masks, four hundred and 60 pieces of soaps, two hundred and 30 bottles of hand sanitizers, and other items to the Prampram Quarantine Centre.
The Chief of Mission of IOM Ghana, Sylvia Lopez-Ekra, said there is the need to address stigma among those who will test positive to the disease and the increasing number of Ghanaians returning home.
This according to her is to enhance a well-coordinated, planning and monitoring of response interventions at sub-national levels.
Head of the Centre, Gifty Ofori Ansah, who received the items indicated that the training has taught the personnel how to engage the returnees.
