President John Dramani Mahama has warned government appointees against arrogance, stressing that power is transient and must be wielded with humility, compassion, and profound accountability to citizens.

He shared this counsel at his First Anniversary Non-Denominational Thanksgiving Service on the forecourt of Jubilee House on Wednesday, January 7.

The President noted that true thanksgiving transcends mere thanks, embodying steadfast dedication to upright governance, unity across the nation, and aid for society’s most needy.

President Mahama indicated the coming year will challenge the determination, endurance, and self-control of leaders, while opening doors to advance reforms and speed up progress nationwide.

He reminded appointees that leadership amounts to temporary stewardship, calling for renewed focus on selfless contributions benefiting all Ghanaians.

“Let us move forward with humility, let us lead with empathy, and let us govern with courage. The year ahead will demand even more from us. It will test our resolve, patience, and discipline, but it will also offer opportunities to deepen the reforms we have started, accelerate growth, and ensure development touches every part of our country. Let us never forget that leadership is stewardship. It is temporary and fleeting. Authority is a trust held on behalf of the people,” he stated.
