Restoration of GN Savings and Loans license: We’re only following what the Appeals court directed us to do – Dr. Nduom
President of Groupe Nduom, Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom, says the group is not looking back or halting its preparatory plans to reopen GN Savings and Loans, as it is only following the Appeals Court’s directives.
He noted that the group is pressing ahead with plans to resume operations following a Court of Appeal ruling ordering the restoration of GN Savings and Loans’ operating licence.
According to Dr. Nduom, the company remains focused on rebuilding the GN brand and is prepared to respond to any legal processes that may arise.
Dr. Nduom said this when addressing a section of the press in Accra on Friday, 29 May 2026.
Responding to questions on reports that the Bank of Ghana has filed an appeal against the Court of Appeal’s judgment on the licence restoration, Dr. Nduom said neither he nor the Bank of Ghana had officially been served with any documents relating to an appeal or consequential orders from the court.
“As I stand here, Bank of Ghana itself has not even been served with what the lawyers call the consequential orders. Again, as I stand here, I have not been served with anything that says somebody is appealing the matter. It may be true, it may not be true, but I cannot rely on word of mouth or what is on social media,” he stated.
The President of Groupe Nduom added that the group’s legal team is fully prepared to deal with any further legal action while operations continue.
“But when we get anything at all from anybody, we are ready with our attorneys to deal with anything with this fact.
Until someone gives us an order different and also superior to what the Court of Appeal had given, we are moving. We are not waiting for anybody. We are on the road, working, restoring, repairing, and putting our things together,” he reiterated.
Dr. Nduom further stressed that the long-term goal is to restore GN Savings and Loans and eventually return it to a fully operational bank.
“There is a focus and the focus is how we bring GN Savings and Loans back and then move on for it to be back to GN Bank again,” he added.
