A major step has been taken towards improving educational infrastructure in Salaga following the official handing over of the construction site for the new Salaga Islamic Junior High School to Macwest Construction.
The project, funded by the Mineral Development Fund (MDF), is aimed at providing a modern and conducive learning environment for students in the community. The contractor has assured stakeholders that the project will be completed within six months, underscoring the urgency and importance attached to its delivery.
The handing-over ceremony brought together officials from the East Gonja Directorate of Education, the East Gonja Municipal Chief Executive, traditional and opinion leaders, community members, and party supporters.
During the event, community leaders and residents expressed heartfelt appreciation to Hon. Hajia Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah and Dr. Callistus Mahama for responding to their longstanding request and helping secure the project for the community.
According to residents, the new school will enhance access to quality education, create a better learning environment for students, and contribute significantly to the socio-economic development of Salaga and its surrounding areas.
With construction now set to begin, the community is optimistic that the project will be completed on schedule and will serve generations of students for years to come.
