In a world where saving is slowly becoming a forgotten habit, the 2025 SUSU Challenge stood firm
with a bold reminder that discipline, patience, and consistency still matter, especially when learned
early.
For eight remarkable years, the SUSU Challenge has been shaping habits, mindsets, and futures.
What started as a simple idea has grown into a nationwide movement, and the 2025 edition proudly
marked the 8th version of the initiative.

Launched in January 2025 with one clear goal to teach learners that saving is a habit and not a
coincidence, the challenge reached learners across ten public schools

In total, over 2,000 specially designed corrugated SUSU boxes from Royal Crown Packaging
Limited were distributed. These were not ordinary boxes. Each one represented a promise and a
personal commitment to save consistently for an entire year without opening or tampering with it.
The idea was simple but powerful. The boxes were strong enough to protect savings, yet easy
enough to break if temptation won. That balance made the lesson real. Any sign of tampering meant
immediate disqualification. Discipline was not optional. It was the core lesson.

Throughout the year, these boxes sat quietly in homes, classrooms, and bedroom corners. Coin by
coin and note by note, a saving habit began to form. Parents noticed the change. Teachers reinforced
the message. Learners took pride in their growing discipline.
In January 2026, the journey reached its climax as we visited all ten schools to break the boxes
under supervision, count the savings, and celebrate commitment. The atmosphere was electric. For
many learners, it was the first time they truly saw what consistent saving over time could achieve.
Three learners from each school emerged as top savers. The winners were rewarded with cash
prizes, but the impact went far beyond the moment. Each prize will be lodged into a brand new
savings bank account opened for the learner and kept securely until they complete JHS and are en
route to SHS.

This thoughtful step eases a major financial burden on parents, supports uninterrupted
school progression, and gives learners peace of mind to focus and learn, knowing their SHS
continuation is secured.
By coincidence, some of the school visits aligned with PTA meetings, turning the experience into
something truly special. Parents witnessed the results firsthand. Some winning learners shared their
joy with their parents as they proudly posed for their awards. The smiles, applause, and heartfelt
appreciation told a powerful story.

The learners also shared their journeys. The temptation. The moments of doubt. The discipline it
took to stay the course. The disappointment on the faces of those who could not resist was evident,
but the lesson was clear. Habit building takes grit, patience, and consistency. Those who stayed
committed from January 2025 to January 2026 deserve a standing ovation.
Every participating learner received souvenirs from Royal Crown Packaging Limited and Access
Bank Ghana Plc, reinforcing that effort, participation, and consistency are always valued. Many
parents openly expressed their appreciation and excitement for the impact this initiative is having on
their children.
What made the moment even more powerful was continuity. Immediately after the close of the 2025
challenge, the next edition was set in motion. New boxes were handed out, ensuring the habit did
not end, but carried forward.

The SUSU Challenge is proudly organized by Royal Crown Packaging Limited, sponsored by
Access Bank Ghana Plc, and made possible by the Ghana Education Service. Together, these
partners are investing not just in boxes, but in future thinkers, planners, and financially responsible
citizens.
Our sincere appreciation goes to the head teachers, teachers, parents, and everyone who contributed
to making the 8th edition a resounding success. Preparations are already underway for the 9th Edition, running from February 2026 to January
- We are open to sponsorships and partnerships as we continue building a financially confident generation.
