The United States Embassy in Accra is set to launch a groundbreaking “FIFA Pass” system tailored for Ghanaian football fans eyeing the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
This dedicated platform promises to streamline visa applications, ensuring ticket holders secure appointments without the usual hassles.
Embassy Press Attaché Matthew Asada shared the exciting update during a Wednesday, January 21, 2026 interview on Citi Eyewitness News.
He revealed that the FIFA Prioritised Appointment Scheduling System, nicknamed FIFA Pass is in its final preparation phase and will roll out imminently.
“We will have more information about that soon,” Asada teased, building anticipation among eager supporters.
At its core, the FIFA Pass guarantees priority visa slots for anyone holding a valid 2026 World Cup ticket.
“This will ensure that any non-immigrant visa applicant with a valid FIFA 2026 World Cup ticket is able to get an appointment before the World Cup itself,” Asada emphasized.
It’s a direct response to surging demand from Black Stars faithful dreaming of stadium roars in the US, Canada, and Mexico.
This initiative builds on the Embassy’s recent efforts to flood the system with thousands of extra non-immigrant visa slots.
Officials urge fans to kick off applications early to dodge last-minute scrambles, sticking strictly to official channels to sidestep scams from shady third parties.
