The Uion Territory (UT) of Chandigarh is taking a proactive stance in promoting a tobacco-free future, the Ministry of Education has reported. Through ongoing activities such as rallies, poster-making competitions, nukkad nataks, and poem recitations, students are being educated to become advocates against tobacco under the Tobacco-Free Youth Campaign 3.0 (TFYC 3.0).

“A two-day workshop was also conducted for Principals, Heads, and Tobacco Monitors, which further strengthened the commitment of all schools in the UT towards creating healthier, safer and truly Tobacco-Free School environments,” the Ministry said in a statement on its official social media page.
The campaign aims to equip students with knowledge about the dangers of tobacco, while empowering schools to maintain safe, tobacco-free spaces. “Students are becoming informed advocates under Tobacco-Free Youth Campaign 3.0,” the Ministry added.

The initiative is part of a broader effort to ensure long-term health awareness among youth and to prevent tobacco use at the school level.
