The Bafana Bafana of South Africa on Monday evening, September 6, 2021, beat Ghana’s Black Stars in a Qatar 2022 World Cup group “G” qualifier at the FNB stadium in South Africa.

The 1st half ended goalless and the South Africans resumed the 2nd half probing for the much-needed goal.

Ghana’s Goalkeeper Richard Ofori got injured and was substituted by Ati Zigi. Bafana Bafana got a fortuitous goal from a cross which hit the South African striker and rolled into the net.

Ati Zigi who had then blocked the goalpost to his right was completely beaten.

Both sides made a number of changes but it was the South Africans who dominated play to carry the day.

With their win, South Africa moved to the summit of Group “G” with 4 points after drawing nil-nil with Zimbabwe on Friday, September 3, 2021.

The Black Stars early 2021, held the Bafana Bafana to a 1-1 draw match in South Africa in an African Cup of Nations Qualifier.

It was a sweet revenge for the South Africans who have never beaten their Ghanaian counterparts since 2006 when they lost 2-nil to the Black Stars in a Germany World Cup Qualifier.

Ethiopia are expected to play Zimbabwe in another Group “G” match.
